Margaret Wilkes served two wonderful years on Volunteer Service Overseas in Kenya. At the end of the 1960s it was a time of great optimism in the newly independent East African nation. Margaret and her friends lived life to the full, as she recounts in her book “Maragoli Memories”, written in Perth, Western Australia where she has lived since the early 1980s. This is a little treasure of a book, telling with affection, humour and fine photographs some adventures and misadventures in Africa 50 years ago.
